bww - visit to Kentucky

I recently made a whirlwind trip to North Arkansas and then on to Kentucky to visit my sister and her family, my brother and my Mom.

While I was there my nieces introduced me to all kinds of things I never knew anything about.  Of course, I know about Minecraft, but since talking with Mounds I have a whole new level of the things I know.

bww - bayou engagement

Well we do live pretty close to Louisiana down here in south Arkansas. . . I had so much fun doing these engagement photos.  I think if I were to pick a specialty I think these kinds of pictures would be my specialty.  I love photographing two people in love.  It's so much fun!

This was my last photo session for 2013.  Now, we are on to 2014. . . new year, for me this means cleaning off my laptop and moving all my photos to my external hard drive.  It's pretty boring, but it must be done to make way for the new photo sessions coming up.

Luckily for me I was asked to do this young lady's wedding this month.  I previously had not done weddings, but I have had quite a few people ask me to do them.  So we are going to give it a shot.  So be sure to stay tuned for those shots coming next month.

Here is your black and white for this week!  Hope you like it!

bww - love is in the air

I would LOVE to show you all the shots from this weekend's SURPRISE proposal photo session, but I have not given them to the happy couple yet, so you will have to take my word for it that it was a HUGE surprise.

. . . AND here is one of the black and whites from this weekend.

I hope you guys are getting out there and taking new photos, but if you are not it's not that hard to convert one of your favorites to black and white.

bww - randomness from the past

Well, I didn't take any pictures this weekend.  I did deliver all my sessions from last week.  Well, technically, I did take some photos but they were the before photos from my carpet cleaning project.  LOL!

No photos I would like to convert to black and white.  So I converted some old pictures for you!

This is the church where Kisses and Skittles got married.

I snapped these the day of her bridal session, outside the church.  It was such a gorgeous day.

Hey??  How did this one get in there.  LOL!  I did not take this picture, it was my bro-in-law from KY.  This was on the wedding day, me . . . being me.  Now it's your turn, link up your great black and white shots until Sunday night.  It doesn't have to be a shot you took this week.  Try converting one of those old photos.  You might be surprised at the results.

black and white Wednesdays - Christmas is coming! Ready or not!

That's right!  People ask me all day, are you ready for Christmas?  And my response is, "Ready or Not Christmas is coming!"  It's kind of like that with Jesus, isn't it!  Whether we are ready or not Jesus is coming!

black and white Wednesday - Santa's family photos

Well, during Thanksgiving this year I barely took any snapshots.  I was busy doing portrait work for Santa's family . . . which I loved every minute!  I have a lot of editing to do, but I can share this black and white with you.

Thanks to God for all His mercy and for allowing me to use the gifts He has given me to give the gift of photography back to my family.

Santa is in the dark shirt in the center (if you didn't know).  Six kids in their family!  The tractor was their dad's when he was living.  Love that they were all together for Thanksgiving!  One of Santa's sisters suggested making this one black and white.  I love it!

Here are some more great blog hops to join!

black and white WINNERS!!

Well, google+ suspended my account over the holiday weekend, because they "claim" I am a fictitious character.  So on google+  at least I will have to be known as "Sandi Burns (Mrs. Claus)". I guess their sense of humor department was on vacation.  LOL!

Anyway, here is this week's winner!
