It doesn't seem possible that we have already been home almost 2 months. Listening to the waves crashing against the sand, well, there's not much like it. The smell of the ocean and the glorious climate. . . I could go on an on.
The weather is FINALLY breaking a little here in good old southwest Arkansas, and I am reminded of the sweet weather on vacation. No worries about stifling humidity in Hawaii. The breeze coming off the water, the smell of salt in the air. Nothing to do all day but wonder where we were going to have dinner. We were truly blessed to be able to share our vacation with our wonderful friends and our grown-up kids. I think THIS is why you shouldn't smother your children when they are young, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for all you struggling with the "why's" of small children or the tantrums of school-aged children. . . . or the dreaded door-slamming "I hate you's" of teenagers. I enjoy my candy bits so much more now that they are adults. Love them past heaven!
Ahhhh . . . can't you just hear it?
