are we truly grateful?

Welcome to DAY 1.

This list is posted above my computer screen in my office.  We all know I have a life just like waking up on Christmas morning every day.  I never know what I will find, but God always blesses me.  I was called out on facebook to participate in a five day gratefulness challenge.

I'M THANKFUL FOR  . . .

I'm thankful for Jesus Christ and the price He paid for me.  I don't deserve it and for that reason I am especially thankful for His sacrifice on my behalf.  Without His great love for me I would not be where I am today.

I LOVE . . .

I love my husband, Santa.  We share a life that is truly blessed and have many things to be thankful for.  But even without all the stuff, we have each other.  We had each other in the beginning when we struggled to make it.  We had each other when our fathers died and his mother died.  We have always had each other, regardless of where we lived or what we have done.

I'M JOYFUL BECAUSE . . .

Even though I have been so, so sick.  I can breathe (thanks to Benedryl) and I can rest thanks to having no photo sessions today and I can be lazy because it is rainy outside.

I'M BLESSED (and here's why) . . .

My joy and peace are not dependent on my circumstances.  My joy and my peace come from knowing that I don't belong on this earth.  I am only here to help God's kingdom until the time I am supposed to leave.  This is truly NOT my home.

1 Thessalonians 5:18Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.

Thanks to my great friend S. for challenging me.  And thanks to Rachel Martin for this great list and reminder to be thankful AND joyful.
