Monday Music Moves Me!

Monday Music Moves Me!

First of all I love this song!  It's catchy . . . upbeat . . .

". . .Joy comes in the morning" is a great verse.

"Your Love Never Fails"

Nothing can separate
Even if I run away
Your love never fails
I know I still make mistakes
You have new mercy for me everyday
Cause Your love never fails

You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There may be pain in the night
But joy comes in the morning
And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me
Your love never fails

The wind is strong and the water's deep
But I'm not alone here in these open seas
Cause Your love never fails
The chasm is far too wide
I never thought I'd reach the other side
But Your love never fails

You make all things work together for my good
You make all things work together for my good

by The Newsboys

But the more I listen the more I think this is sending the wrong message.

"You make all things work together for my good"

This is not true.  The Bible doesn't say God will make all things work together for "MY" good.  It says,

"We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose."  Romans 8:27-29This sounds more in line with God makes everything work together for "HIS" good and according to "HIS" plan.  The saint who serves the One Living God may not experience good in his life, as it is part of God's plan that the saint be allowed to suffer here on earth as part of the glorious plan God has made.

This song gives a false sense of God as some magical "Santa Claus" who makes everything always work out for those who love Him.  While ultimately we who love the Lord are given everything, He does not make everything work together to make our lives easy.

Just a little Monday morning rant!

You are welcome.
