That's right! Reese's is 21 years old today. I can hardly believe it myself. This is one of her engagement sessions photos. She looks so beautiful in this picture, it's easy to see that she's not a baby anymore.
21 years ago I got out of the car at the hospital crying because my contractions had stopped once again. Two weeks past the due date and many trips (35 min. one way) to the hospital to be sent home without a baby.
On this day 21 years ago, I had been having contractions since around 4:00 a.m. and by 11:30 a.m. I was thinking this was going to be the day. They were progressing to the point that I couldn't concentrate while having a contraction. But . . . on the way to the hospital I fell asleep in the car. When Santa woke me up I just started crying and I told him I was sorry the contractions stopped AGAIN! So we came all the way over here for nothing.
But he said, as long as we are here we'll get them to check you out. Luckily, I was at about a "3" so they kept me and hooked me up to all the machines. By now it was probably almost 1 p.m. by 2:30 p.m. when the nurse checked me again I was at a 9 and they started scrambling! Reese's was born at 3:30 pm!
I really wish she was still this old.
Happy Birthday Reese's! Hope your birthday is the best ever!!
