"How He Loves" (originally by John Mark McMillan, performed by David Crowder Band)
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.
And oh, how He loves us, oh,
Oh, how He loves us,
How He loves us all
And we are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we're all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don't have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about the way...
He loves us . . .
These are the lyrics from David Crowder Band's song, "How He Loves". This song is old, but it still moves me. I get chills when I think about the lyrics to this song. I don't know if any of you have the same reaction to songs, but this one really gets me.
"I don't have time to maintain these regrets . . ."
How can we complain when God sent His Son so we can be forgiven? How can we even entertain the idea of not forgiving someone else, when we ourselves have been so completely forgiven?
That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it's not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive -- only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins." Mark 11:24-25 (MSG)
