black and white Wednesdays - country antiques

Updated: 2/25/2013

Congratulations to Lori! She won again this week!  Our judges loved this black and white shot.  But it really was a hard decision this week.  So many great shots to choose from.

At Santa's sister's surprise birthday party there were so many antiques to photograph there was no way to do this place justice.  So here are just a few of the black and white shots from that weekend.

Reese's and her BF plotting before the secret was revealed.

The Pure Country Retreat was simply amazing, with it's exposed tin roof, log walls, taxidermy, saddle bar stools and multiple themed bedrooms, well there is just no way to describe how unique this place truly is without visiting in person.

Looking in from the front porch.

Upstairs dining area.  The tables have quilts for table cloths.

Some laundry hanging in the gathering area on the main floor.

An antique gas pump illuminates the stairs to the second floor.  Cowboy hats adorn each post of the rope railing on the stairs.

This is probably my favorite shot of the place even though it's not black and white.  Reese's and her BF were looking up at all the memorabilia which was everywhere.

Here are some more great blog hops to join!

  1. What a cool place! I love that photo of them plotting together. Too cute.

    Thanks for hosting!

  2. I love this place! How simply charming it is and you got some excellent photos!

Thanks for hosting the WW hop!

  3. Wow! I wonder if you can purchase any of those antiques. Really cool place to visit.
    Happy WW :)

  4. Looks like an episode of american Pickers. Love it. Beautiful photos. Lovely antiques.

  5. That last pick was extremely creative and one where you had to be at the right place at the right time. Great capture!

    1. You always challenge me to be honest. I did catch a glimpse of them in the mirror . . . but to be honest, I made them go back and pose for this shot. LOL! It's a good one though!

  6. Now that's a place I would love to visit, and I know my husband would too!! Have to agree with your last photo being creative ... it is, and I love it! The others in B/W are really great, too ... I love antiques! I've also used a quilt for my kitchen table, too ... always looks so sweet when they do that! Good to be back for a second week ... and thank you, again, for the third place win last week!! What a blessing that was to see! :)

    1. Deborah, our judges did like your photo, but I simply LOVED it. But I don't get to pick the winners. (I am too biased and our judges seriously don't know who goes with each photo.)

The expression on this little angel's face is so innocent and genuine, it would have been number one in my book. Congratulations on third place.

    2. Wow ... thank you so much, Sandi! Such an encouraging compliment!! And now I know a little more about the judging, too ... and, you know, win, or not, still it's so much fun to participate with the others! I really enjoy seeing what they share ... I love challenging myself in this 'passion' of mine and this is a good way to do that! Thanks so much for hosting this one!! You have a wonderful day!

      Blessings xoxo

Thanks so much for leaving a comment . . .I just love them!!
