action

At the Firefighter Competition there was a lot of action!  Action is sometimes hard to demonstrate with a still photograph.  First I need to thank my friend M. who was one of the announcers and invited me to come and take pictures.  My life IS like Christmas every day.  People like M. make my life happy when they ask me to take pictures for them.

So here are some of my favorite action shots from the games.

I like the wood chips that are flying up in this shot.  Firefighters had to chop a hole through this mock roof during one of the relay races.

During another relay, a firefighter had to climb across a soapy pipe bridge across a pool of water.  Some made it.

. . . and some didn’t.

Firefighters had to put on all their gear in under TWO MINUTES!

Teams of firefighters had to race down a hose that was out of control and stop it while they were being timed.

Pretty cool shot.

Carrying the practice dummy across the finish line.  This firefighter was amazing, because most of them had to drag this dummy across the line.  He just picked him up and carried him. . . whoa.

Tug-O-War at the end to determine the overall winner, who won over $1,000 for their firehouse.
