never thirst

We are gearing up for our 3rd annual Mud Bowl and last night we got to hear first hand how Jacob Ricker and his never thirst organization mobilizes and puts feet to our prayers for disaster victims.

I was lucky enough to have a camera with me and they asked if I would take some pictures . . . (well you know what I said).

They helped pass out commitment cards to our congregation.

Jacob shared with all of us how his organization touches the lives of disaster victims around the United States.  Their most recent trip was to Vilonia, Arkansas where a tornado almost wiped their town off the map.  Never Thirst was there within 72 hours to hand out water to residents while they were rebuilding.  Their teams take water to people, instead of asking people to come to where they are.

Six months after the disaster they revisit the site and take more water and share the gospel and the hope of Jesus Christ with people who are ready to listen.  Not only does this organization provide water, but they also give people living water so they will thirst no more.

John 4:13-14
Jesus said, "Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst—not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life."

Afterward, Jacob invited people to pray for never thirst, to volunteer, to donate and to sign up for his newsletter.  Many of our students participated.

Just $5.00 buys (1) one case of bottled water to help these families.

  1. Hi Sandy,
I haven't visited you in a long time.

What a great cause that is. I never stopped to think where the drinking water would come from in a disaster.
How nice that they take the water to the people instead of having the people come to them.

Very nice post. I tweeted it.

Thanks so much for leaving a comment . . .I just love them!!
