Well there were only five graduates at our church this year and only three were able to make it to the service. This marks the beginning of a crazy week at our house.
Sunday was Baccalaureate and we had all of Reese’s art and photos to set up on her table so we had to get to church a few hours before time to start. But here is the table we set up. What do you think?
I’m glad Reese’s loved her table. I wasn’t exactly sure how it would turn out.
The parents had to present the Bibles to their graduates, and I really didn’t know what to say. But I didn’t cry, and that made Reese’s happy. I didn’t make a long emotional speech, I just told her that she was a unique person and I hope she stayed that way all through college and that I loved her past heaven.
M.’s mom, on the other hand, had all her family crying by the end of her speech. LOL! Even M. was crying.
I am blessed beyond belief that this little girl has been a huge part of my life. But I’m not really sad, I guess because she’s not moving away. She’ll be attending SAU in the fall right here in good old Magnolia. She’ll be living at home, so there’s not much change to have to deal with yet. It will be more sad when she goes to LSU or Oklahoma to do her Veterinary degree. That won’t be for a few more years. So for now, I can be happy and celebrate this accomplishment without the overshadowing sadness that sometimes comes when kids go away to college. So yes, I am blessed!
