Snow Day

This morning at 6:00 a.m. I woke up to the telephone and the automated message saying that Magnolia Public Schools are closed today due to inclement weather. . . . meaning there is 1/2 an inch of snow on the ground. I know, I know . . . all you people up to your kneecaps in snow can laugh all you want.

This time we really have snow! Not ice. It's so wonderful. Listening to snow fall is very different from listening to sleet pellet the windows and driveway. Snow is peaceful and light. Sleet is menacing and treacherous. Snow is beautiful. Sleet is horrible.

The problem is not the 1/2 inch on the ground, but the fact that it is supposed to snow until after lunch. So it's still coming down, as of 7:30 a.m. Maybe it will last for the day. High 46 tomorrow and high 55 on Sunday . . . oh well, that's the way for snow in the south.

Hope you have a great day and stay warm!!

Daisypath Christmas tickers

  1. I really enjoy seeing pretty pictures of snow, all the while being thankful that I'm not in it. It's been cold enough here to snow, however since the dew point is hovering in the -10 to -20 range, we're not even waking up to frost. I think the metro area of Phoenix would completely shut down if there was 1/2 inch of snow on the ground...

  2. At least you're getting some snow! I am so JEALOUS!

Thanks so much for leaving a comment . . .I just love them!!
