You're Doing What???

People, by now you should not fall for these kinds of headlines. Really? You just clicked on that because of the headline. . . you know you did.

These are sensationalist headlines. The sole purpose of a headline (or blog title) is to pique' your curiosity so you will click on over and read what the article (blog post) is all about. AND . . . you fell for it. LOL!

It's okay, I'm really glad you did. Let's see what all the hub-bub is about anyway, shall we?

Santa and I started a low-carb diet a couple of weeks ago and I have already seen some results. I don't know if it's just me or not, but wow!! I already fit into my jeans better. My body likes the low-carb diets. Atkins, Sugar-Busters, South Beach or whatever. My skin tightens up around my muscles and bones like a wet suit. . . . well almost. LOL! Everything shrinks up to meet the challenge of not having any sugar to run on.

Mrs. Claus' body is so great at converting sugar to fat to be stored somewhere (butt) on her body (thighs) that you can almost watch my jeans burst as I am opening the wrapper on a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

So, yes, I started THE diet. Not really as a New Year's resolution, because I really don't do those. But I do tend to diet after the holidays. I guess everyone does. After Thanksgiving all the way through New Year's Eve . . . sometimes even through the Super Bowl, we pig out.

I am always pleasantly surprised how well I do on this diet. Like I said only 2 weeks in and my jeans already fit better. The other thing about low-carb is I'm not hungry. Okay, I take that back. I get ferociously hungry, but just a little bit of protein satisfies my hunger.

I feel kind of like a lioness. When I am hungry, I want to rip out a zebra's neck and eat the whole thing. But after a hind leg, I'm stuffed. Then I'm not hungry for a long time.

I know there are risks, please don't post or rant about how unhealthy this diet is to me. No, please post comments. . . rant. . . . rave. . . .I don't mind, really.

I appreciate your concern, but I am not doing Atkins, I'm doing Sugar Busters which means I can have fruit and whole grains, brown rice just no processed sugar or too many starches. Santa is doing Atkins, but he has more weight to lose, plus the added mandate from his doctor to cut back on the carbs.

So what are you doing to cut back / diet / fit back into your jeans? Hmmm?

If any of you have low-carb recipes you are willing to share, please let me know. Shoot me an email or leave me a comment. Searching for low-carb stuff to cook!!

  1. Good for you! I'm diabetic, and don't want to take medication or have to use insulin, so I've been counting carbs for 10 years. It becomes a habit after a while. I'm trying to walk 10,000 steps a day. It's slow but steady!

  3. I've never heard of Sugar Buster's, it sounds like a really good idea, pretty much the way everyone should be eating, right? Good luck! That's so great that you are already feeling the results!
