Pay It Forward Friday - Operation Christmas Child

If you don't know about Pay It Forward Fridays, hop over to Blue Frog Legs and check it out.

I am looking forward to tonight.  The girls from my SS Class are coming over to spend the night and then we are going to go shopping in Texarkana.  They can go Christmas shopping or they can shop for Operation Christmas Child.

If you don't know, or you are not familiar with this organization, click on the link and listen to Dave Ramsey's video about what they do at

Operation Christmas Child has grown and grown, 8 million children received a shoe box last year.  That is a lot of shoe boxes!  I think this is a wonderful way to pay it forward, especially because it is children who receive the boxes.

Tonight we will plan where we need to shop and pray over the empty boxes.  I like to have a child in mind when I am building my box.  To think of the age and think what each special item will mean to that child.  My children participated in this when they were small, and it's still going and growing today.

Then this Wednesday our students in youth, will be putting together all the items for the shoe boxes, and this is always a fun time.  We made an assembly line (kind of ) last year and filled the boxes and then had races to see who could wrap their boxes the fastest.

So this is my "Pay It Forward Friday" post, what are you doing to pay it forward?

  1. We do Operation Christmas Child boxes here too. One year, we even received a letter back from a lady who distributed them in her church in a Third World Country. Such a small thing to bring smiles to some child in need.

Thanks so much for leaving a comment . . .I just love them!!
