The Transformers

I finally am caught up enough to take a minute to write this post. I have been going non-stop it feels like since Disciple Now weekend.

I think about all the kids that were at Disciple Now and the decisions that were made. God is changing hearts in Magnolia, Arkansas. I don't think He has finished, but He's started. Praise the Lord!

All the girls were at my house and we had a great time with the college leaders. The scavenger hunt had to be my favorite part . . . I am no longer "nervous" about driving the church van. LOL! This was the Sr. High girls' vehicle for the hunt, and we had to drive all over Magnolia and take pictures of the clues on our scavenger hunt. We were racing against the Jr. High girls' team and the boys. That was a lot of fun!

The Andy Williams Band was awesome. These guys really made the weekend! Check them out on facebook if you get a chance.

I have said this before, but I really enjoy watching kids worship. I love to watch their hearts change and their lives open up for God. It's the most amazing part of working with youth. When you do work "back there" with the youth, you can't just take a quick glance. Youth only show you what they want you to see. They are protective of their hearts at this point in their lives. Sometimes due to the hurts they have seen, or the fear of being hurt because of something their friends have gone through. Youth are complicated. So you can't just glance in our youth room and think you have it all figured out. There are a lot more things going on back there than meet the eye, kind of like "The Transformers".

  1. Ministering to Youth is so amazing and yet so hard. Before we moved here my inlaws had a church and an outreach for the youth. It was the most awesome time and yet the most needing to trust God time. But when you saw a youth give their hearts to Jesus, it made every struggle worth it!
