Twenty-five years! Wow, this was such a great day. Paul and Pam were married 25 years on February 13th of this year. Paul started a month ago planning this day to surprise Pam and I think he pulled it off. Pam was totally surprised, when she got to the church and saw all her family and friends.
There are things that happen over the course of 25 years that no one can predict when you walk the aisle and say "I do." I guess that is why it is such an accomplishment to make it twenty-five years. Paul told all of us that there were things that he had done wrong and things that he regretted, but we all do things we are sorry for during our marriages.
The point being that love covers a multitude of sin.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7, The Message
